Steve has been to Rwanda, in East Africa, three times (2007, 2008 and 2009) as a member of the British Conservative Party’s voluntary social action programme, Project Umubano. He advises senior figures in the Rwandan Government and media sector on various matters, including the important and sensitive subject of the development of the media in a country where radio and newspapers were used as tools of genocide in 1994.
